Yeah, I like the way that one is cut. I was thinking a small piece of round stock (1/4" or less) to finish the edges, or figure out a way to roll them in without looking like regurgitated ass...

I wanted to move the front axle forward about 10-12", but the change in class rules will keep me from doing that for now...at least until I build a stronger engine to jump to the modified class, or I'm confident that what I've got will kick some booty. I've got to keep a "stock" type suspension to stay in the class I'm in now, and I really feel I would be competitive there... We'll see this season if I've got the nuts to jump up into the next class, or if we should save that one for more power.

My front axle is already 2-3" forward of the stock Jeep location, can't really do much more than that with the restrictions on my class.

Randy, you're a bad influence...LOL

I was thinking about doing a 3 link on the front, move the front axle out to the max that rules will allow...My springs on the back currently are waaaaay soft, so I already had ladder bars. I just need either different shocks, or to adjust the location/angle of mine to play with the dampening. They were bottoming out when I nailed it off the line, kinda making it buck back forward. I've got different springs that I was going to try on the back to see what they do, they've got a higher arch, and I was going to install them spring-under instead of the spring-over that's currently there.

I will....however, extend the front end out after I find a decent nitrous kit, maybe another set of Boggers or Hawgs to make some cuts. Just trying to get it a little lower to the ground right now, and stay legal in my current Prostock class.

ya no the stock jeeps are a 4link set up just use coilover shocks insted of coilsprings!!
putin the rear on top will help weight transfer.. yer gona have to move the shock mounts any way to do that so fix the bottomin out problem then!
o yeah i'v been called that before!!

Yeah, I knew the TJ's ('97+ Jeeps) use a 4 link suspension, I just didn't know if I could get away with putting that suspension on mine or not...since my chassis is an '84, and all Jeeps prior to '97 had leaf springs, I think they would put me in the modified or mini open class if I did 4 link with coilovers. I know that one of the rules specifically states "no coilovers or 3/4 links" in the prostock class.....I guess I just need to man up and jump on in to the next class, huh?

So you're saying that running the springs under the axle will help with weight transfer? That's good, that's what I was thinking and hoping for. Now I'm looking for a good set of shocks that are relatively soft on compression, stiff on the rebound to help keep it squatted when I nail it.

Well duh it'll help transfer weight....the same way it does away with a lot of axle wrap. You're trying to twist the main leaf, not as easy as when it's spring over.

Sooo...when I come up yonder on my spring break during the first full week of April, we're gunna be doin last minute stuff trying to get ready?
